Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are delighted to announce that the newly refurbished Marlay Craft Courtyard in Marlay Park is open for business. The restoration of this protected structure has 20 tenants occupying studios/shops over two floors within the courtyard which has been restored to the highest standards.
Marlay Courtyard currently hosts a collective of 20 Designers, Artists and Crafts people, some established and some recently launched.
The pre existing four businesses have been successful in creating loyal and appreciative local community support and enthusiasm.
A showcase of the projects would include U2’s guitar builder and maintenance Engineer, an Irish Tableware company who yielded export sales of over 1 million dollars to the US in 2002 alone along with a very prominent Sign business and renowned bronze sculptor.
The new brands entering the hub have been selected and proven to have maximum potential in their artistic and commercial viability. Among these diverse talents are producers of eco fragrance and skincare, millinery, two Jewellers, Personalised stationery,photographers and three prolific Artists and a specialist confectionery designer.
Each of these businesses are expected to thrive as the variety and cross pollination of fresh footfall and a vast range of goods and services will attract and project the Courtyard as a popular destination.
The restoration of the Marlay Craft Courytard presents a significant opportunity to encourage new craft talent to set up business in this classic courtyard at Marlay Park. This will be a special place for the finest craftspeople to work and showcase their products
