Not easily put into a box, Jennifer Rowe creates using various mediums to make both illustrative and abstract art.

An interest in animation and digital artwork led to her studying animation in college where she honed her drawing, design, and storytelling skills. Her charming style is purrrfect for illustrating cartoons and quirky pet portraits--- though there is a clear bias for cats! She aims for a subtle humour and playfulness in her work.

In a different vein, she creates abstract art that plays more purely with line and shape. Her inky designs started as "doodles" in the margins of her school notebooks and are now maturing into her own quirky design language. They are a mixture of intention and intuition as she lets the designs emerge over time, leaving them open to multiple interpretations.

Currently Jennie is exploring Encaustic art, painting with layers of pigmented beeswax, adding collage and drawing into the wax to take her abstract designs even further.

Jennifer Rowe graduated from the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) in 2018. She has a B.A. Hons. degree in Animation.
